Overview

1 Santon Cottages is a beautiful house situated in the North West Lake District. It is close to Scafell Pike- the highest peak in England, Wastwater lake- the deepest in England, and the coast is a 10-minute drive. The house has breathtaking views over the fells and is well equipped with all you will need including a log burner, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Free wifi included. Pets are very welcome and there is a private fully secure garden.

About the space

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are supporting enhanced cleaning regimes and are re-assuring our guests by hiring bed linen from a professional company. Social Distancing is possible at all times, and check-in is contactless via a key safe. The property comprises:

Lounge with beautiful log burner.
Large fully equipped kitchen with breathtaking views over surrounding fells. (inc. dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer)
The dining room also overlooks the garden.

Getting around

1 Santon Cottages is not ideal if you do not have use of a car. There is a good train network nearby (the nearest station is Drigg) and the train trip is along the stunning coastline. It is a great way to access the nearby town but not an ideal way to arrive unless you have onward plans.

During your stay

Although we won’t be on-site during your stay, we live nearby and can be available if anything is needed. The welcome pack will be located in the lounge upon arrival at 1 Santon Cottages.

Guest access

You’ll have the whole house to yourselves- as well as the fully enclosed garden.
The house is semi-detached so we do have a neighbour that we ask you to be respectful of.

Other things to note

Property has free wifi, television and a landline phone available to use.

We are dog and pet friendly and rear garden is fully enclosed.

The property is situated very near to Wastwater- the deepest lake in England and home to Scafell Pike- England’s highest peak. The lake has also been voted Britain’s favourite view.

About the area

There is a pub within walking distance and many more in surrounding areas.

We are also a 10 minutes drive to several beautiful beaches- including the village of Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the National Park.

There is an abundance of things to see and do for all ages in the area- Ravenglass Steam Railway, Muncaster Castle, Cumbrian Heavy Horses and the Lakeland Distillery to name but a few. Above all though, there are endless walks and beautiful scenery to enjoy.
